Gränichen, Switzerland, 31 May 2017 – The Zehnder Group interrupts their production in Manisa (Turkey) with immediate effect. The reason for the interruption is the recent occurrence of earthquakes and the related assessment of the safety of the production building.
As a result of repeated earthquakes in the region around the Manisa production location in Turkey, the Zehnder Group has imposed an immediate production stop and ordered that the state of the production building and the safety of the workers be checked.
In Manisa, the Zehnder Group mainly produces bathroom radiators. Production has been carried out in rented premises for over 10 years. In May 2016, the Zehnder Group decided to construct their own production plant, including space for warehouse and logistics operations. For this purpose, an around 40,000 m2 plot of land was purchased in Manisa. Commissioning was planned for 2018, however the beginning of construction was delayed due to current instability in Turkey.
The Group Executive Committee will provide information on the measures introduced and the further development of the Zehnder Group’s activities in Turkey in due time.
